Who Am I?
Electra. Nice to meet you! I’ve been a creative writer for 20 years – self-published – and I currently work as a freelance digital content writer.
A BA in English Literature from the University of East Anglia only increased my awareness, curiosity, and appetite for bookish things. And, voila, this blog was born!
How Are Books Selected And Reviewed?
Fiction, fantasy, magical realism, and science fiction attract me the most.
I look for debut novels of quality and originality, whether their authors are completely new to the scene or simply writing in another form or language for the first time.
A book has to jump out at me in terms of title, cover, plot, theme, or anything in between that makes it stand out from its fellows.
Then I examine the key qualities of each book. What makes it special… My perception of a given work may not be the same as another reader’s, but I hope to provide a sense of what to expect from every reading experience.
And I don’t review books I don’t like. So, if they’re on Book Breath, they’re definitely worth diving into, at least, for the reasons provided.
